A DiffServ enhanced admission control scheme

چکیده
In this paper, we propose a scalable reservation protocol and admission control algorithm, DEAC, that combines features of both endpoint admission control and Diff-Serv architectures. We are able to make hard guarantees to individual flows without per-flow management in the network core. By allowing flows to probe the network for available bandwidth and routers to control the amount of simultaneous probe traffic, this scheme addresses the problems that limit the effectiveness of current endpoint admission control schemes. We describe the overall admission control process and our implementation. We give a detailed analysis of the parameters that control the admission control algorithm and present simulation results that verify the analysis.

A Dynamic Admission Control Scheme in a DiffServ Domain
Gaining lessons from the IntServlRSVP experiences, more simplified Differentiated Services(DiffServ) has emerged as the core network architecture with enhanced scalability for implementation and deployment. In order to provision differentiated services on a DiffServ domain, it is necessary to provision resources appropriately in the control or management plane of the DiffServ domain, in additio...
متن کاملFair intelligent admission control over DiffServ network
The basic DiffServ model lacks mechanisms to prevent itself from being overload and to inform its internal capacity to the outside world. This paper addresses the problem by presenting a Fair Intelligent Admission Control (FIAC) over an enhanced-DiffServ architecture. The central idea is to make admission decision based on both informed network-status and traffic QoS requirements at the edge no...
متن کاملAdmission Control for Inter-domain Real-Time Traffic Originating from Differentiated Services Stub Domains
Differentiated Services (DiffServ) are seen as the technology to support Quality of Service (QoS) in IP networks in a scalable manner by allowing traffic aggregation within the engineered traffic classes. In DiffServ domains, admission control additionally needs to be employed in order to control the amount of traffic into the engineered traffic classes so as to prevent overloads that can lead ...
متن کاملStateful vs. stateless admission control: which can be the gap in utilization efficiency?
IETF developed two main approaches to provide QoS aware services in the Internet: Integrated Services (IntServ) and Differentiated Services (DiffServ). Both have well known pros and cons (e.g., [1][2]). The stateful IntServ has a greater level of accuracy and a finer level of granularity. The stateless DiffServ possesses excellent scaling properties, but lacks a standardized admission control s...
متن کاملDiffserv extensions for QoS provisioning in IP mobility environments
QLN QLN Domain A Mobile station A QGS Radio access network Radio access network Local IP network DiffServ itself lacks a simple and scalable bandwidth resource management scheme for a dynamic environment as an IP-based RAN. It is, therefore, necessary to extend DiffServ model for admission control and on-demand resource reservation under IP mobility environments.
